Nadan Kozhi Curry is a traditional Kerala-style chicken curry which is made with succulent chicken chunks simmered in flavourful coconut oil or milk followed by some aromatic lightly roasted spices.
Ingredients Of Nadan Kozhi Curry
• 750 Gram Chicken
• 2 medium Roughly chopped onion
• 2 tbsp Ginger garlic paste
• 3-4 Chopped green chillies
• 3-4 Curry leaves
• 1/4 tbsp Turmeric powder
• 1/2 tsp Chilli powder
• 1 tbsp Coriander Powder
• 1 tsp Garam masala powder
• 2 medium Tomato
• 3-4 tbsp Coconut oil
• 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
• 2 Dry red chilies
• 2-3 Curry leaves
1.Grind ginger garlic paste, green chilies and curry leaves along with onion in the blender. Do not completely blend it.
2.Heat oil in a kadhai and add the blended mixture with salt, saute well until golden brown. It will take at least 20-25 minutes approximately.
3.Add turmeric powder, chilli powder, garam masala powder and coriander powder. Saute for about 5 – 6 minutes or until their raw smell leaves.
4.Add chopped tomato pieces. Saute really well until tomato gets mashed up completely and oil separates.
5.Add 1/4 cup hot water. Mix well. Add the chicken pieces, salt as required and mix everything well so that the chicken gets well-coated with the gravy.
6.Cover it until the chicken pieces get tender.
7.Now in a separate pan, add coconut oil, mustard seeds, curry leaves and let them splutter. Pour this on the top of the curry and cover it for 10 minutes.
8.Serve with your favourite bread or rice. Enjoy!
